Long Distance Relationship Romantic Ideas
by Gloria Liven
Some fun romantic ideas or tips to keep you connected, even though you're far apart.

  • Send your lover a love letter, or a letter every week telling them about your life.
  • Send them a post card every week telling them what's new or going on.
  • Each of you can keep a scrapbook or journal of things you do while you're apart so the other can read about them later.
  • Play an online game together, like games on Yahoo, Isketch, etc. -- or play an online video game.
  • Create a calendar with photos of you and/or long distance love quotes.
  • Send them a soft, cuddly stuffed animal for them to snuggle with at night.
  • Call and have dinner delivered to them!
  • Call each other every night before bed. If it's clear out, go outside and gaze at the stars together.
  • Give them a token to keep with them when you're away-- a piece of jewelry, a favorite book, etc-- something that is important to you and will remind them of you
  • Leave a message for them when you know they aren't around, so they can hear your voice.
  • Find a favorite classic love poem, and send it to them, along with a letter telling you what that poem means to you.
  • Burn them a CD of songs that remind you of them.
  • Consider getting a webcam for each of you so you can chat.
  • Go to a movie "together", meaning you both go to the same movie at the same time; then call each other and talk about what you thought.
  • Have flowers delivered to them
  • Get a picture of you both turned into a jigsaw puzzle, and mail them a piece every day.
  • When you're on the internet browsing random news, etc., make sure you send a link to them if you find it interesting!
  • Send them a box of candy, with one piece for each day of the month.
  • Write them a love poem
  • Send them a random question (like, "If you could live any time in history, when you you live?) etc. every day, or a few a week; Though you're apart, you can get to know them better!
  • Create a blog and dedicate it to them.
  • Write down a list of "things that reminded me of you today", it can be fun and silly, and mail them.
  • Countdown till your next visit, by sending them a piece of candy for each day
  • Or make a calendar for each day; write some quotes (like long-distance relationship quotes) on a 3x5 card for each day, and staple all the cards together.
  • Or make a paper chain with a link for each day until your next visit. You can write quotes on each link of the chain.
  • Plan a surprise visit if you can-- show up at their place one day!
