10 Flirting Tips
by Gloria Liven
1 - Smile
Studies have shown that when you smile, you not only look more attractive,
but people want to be around you more, too! A smile is happy, inviting,
and nonthreatening. Plus, smiling can actually make you feel happier and
more confident.
2 - Start
a conversation
Simply saying, "Hi" can be the best "pick-up"
line or conversation opener. Make small talk, and practice good conversation
techniques. Even if all you do is walk by someone and smile and say, "Hi",
you've already done a first huge step in getting to know them.
3 - Carry
a prop
A prop is something that's unusual that can spark conversation;
a puppy, and unusual necklace, a funny T-shirt, a parrot on your shoulder
-- it's something that other people might want to ask about when they
see it.
4 - Eye Contact
Make eye contact when you speak with them. Or, if you want to flirt with
people you don't know, simply look them in the eye from across a room
or on the street; they'll notice you.
5 - Complement
Them
Complement them on something genuine, it's even better if it's something
unique you notice about them. "I've noticed how much time you put
into studying, no wonder you get good grades!" or "Did you make
that jewelry? It's really cool".
6 - Be Confident
Be confident and have a positive attitude. Practice telling yourself you're
confident; stand up straight, smile, and tell yourself that you're desireable
and sexy. A confident attitude will show in the way you handle yourself.
7 - Practice Flirting
The best way to get better at flirting is to practice! Practice
flirting with strangers, friends, or acquaintances.
8 - Don't
Worry & Have Fun
Don't be overly worried that you'll say or do something silly--
everyone does once in awhle, so have a good attitude and laugh it off
if you do! Have fun talking to the other person and it will show in your
attitude. You can joke, tease, or be silly and make the other person laugh!
9 - Listen!
Everyone loves to be listened to-- so let the other person talk!
Ask questions about what they do or what they're interested; even if you
don't talk much, the other person will come away feeling that you're great
at making conversation!
10 - Have
Open Body Language
Open body language means looking
relaxed and inviting; Making eye contact, smiling, facing the other person.
Don't fold your arms, look down, look bored, tap your fingers impatiently,
or face away from the other person, that can all be seen as closed and
uninterested.
